Project 10 is currently looking to hire a Funding and Finance Director to lead the organization in a proactive, organized and collaborative manner. Project 10 works to promote the personal, social, sexual and mental well being of lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, transsexual, two-spirit, intersex and questioning (2SLGBTQ+) youth and adults 14-25. Through advocacy and education, using a harm reduction approach, Project 10 aims to facilitate the empowerment of youth at individual, community, and institutional levels with a particular emphasis on supporting individuals and groups who experience multiple and intersecting oppressions. Services are free of charge, confidential and anonymous, and are offered in English and French.

We are also hiring an Executive Director at the same time. Both of these positions will include the opportunity to benefit from a solid orientation process and ongoing coaching.

Terms:
$75,000 – $80,000 (commensurate with experience)
32-40 hrs per week according to your preference and the needs of the organization, with the possibility of some hybrid work

$500.00 per reference year (April 1-March 31) to be used toward self-care, upon approval by the Board of Directors
Four weeks vacation (two weeks are to be chosen by the employee, at least four weeks in advance, with the authorization of the Board of Directors; Two weeks are to be taken during the period when Project 10 is closed (one (1) week during the month of August and one (1) week during the month of December).

Main areas of responsibility:
Financial management
Ensure strong financial management and oversight, with an eye to mitigating risks
Supervise and support the external accountant and internal bookkeeper
Ensure the proper processing of petty cash, payroll, accounts payable and receivable
Ensure that employee remittances and other government payments are filed on time
Ensure that tax reports are filed, in partnership with the accountant
Oversee filing of paperwork with the Registraire des entreprises du Quebec
Charitable status
Oversee immediate submission of T3010 report to registered charities directorate with support from an external consultant, the finance coordinator and accountant
Ensure proper processing of donations, adequate issuing of tax receipts and thank you cards for donors in partnership with the Fundraising Coordinator
Ensure confidentiality of donor information

Governance
Support the ED as needed to ensure smooth governance processes are in place
Support the ED to recruit and training new Board members as needed
Provide monthly updates to the Board in terms of fundraising and finance

Funding & partnerships
Maintain strong, transparency and professional relationships with all funders (government, foundation, corporate, individual donors)
Oversee creation and submission of any reports to funders
Oversee annual renewal of PSOC
Identify and prioritize grants that support existing operations / core costs
Collaborate with the external consultancy team and incoming Board to identify and apply for other funding opportunities that arise
Oversee an annual fundraising campaign geared towards individuals

Requirements
Available to work in person in Montreal (at the P10 offices in the neighbourhood of Ahunstic)
Lived experience in 2SLGBTQI+ communities;
Minimum of 3-5 years experience in a management, coordination or administrative position in the non-profit sector, specifically with experience in supporting and supervising staff;
Functional bilingualism e.g. ability to converse with members and partners comfortably in French and English, ability to write grants in French and English;
Commitment to upholding the bylaws, policies, values and approaches of the organization;
Past experience in contributing to and upholding an anti-oppressive, equitable workplace;
Strong, organized financial management and oversight skills;
Strong ability to communicate and act in a professional and ethical way;
Ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities simultaneously;
Collaborative, confident leadership style;
Previous experience recruiting, supervising, supporting, and when necessary, overseeing disciplinary actions with staff;
Strong group facilitation skills and past experience with consensus-based decision-making;
Comfortable with potentially working with staff partially in person and partially remote;

Assets:
Previous experience working in any of the following: 2SLGBTQI+ organization, youth organization, BIPOC organization, health and social services organization, direct service provision organization, etc.;
Previous experience with governance e.g. special general meetings, onboarding new board members, writing policy;
Previous experience recruiting, supervising, supporting and when necessary, overseeing disciplinary actions with volunteers and contractors
Conflict resolution skills.
