Under the VIE program, the procurement advisor will perform a VIE engagement within Danone Inc. in the Canadian Business Unit, for a term of 24 months.
The Procurement Advisor will report to the Procurement Manager, within the Cycles & Procurement organization of Danone Canada.
They will be responsible for supporting the daily activities of the department and will assume the following responsibilities:
Category Management and Supplier Relationship Management
- Define and co-develop the strategy for Purchasing categories;
- Develop and maintain relationships with strategic suppliers;
- Work hand in hand with the Department of Marketing to analyze needs, conduct calls for tenders, negotiate agreements, build contracts with the legal department and ensure implementation and proper execution of these contracts;
- Monitor and facilitate vendor compliance with Danone policies, guidelines, and standards;
Evaluation of Strategic Agencies
- Elaborate and Conduct supplier surveys;
- Evaluate and monitor the local performance of agencies;
- Define performance improvement objectives and necessary action plans;
- Monitor and ensure the implementation of action plans;
Financial management
- Create internal / external synergies by identifying value creation opportunities in terms of productivity opportunities and cost avoidance;
- Co-establish the annual budget for each agency, monitor deviations from forecasts and manage risks by collaborating with Agencies, Finance and Marketing/Brandstakeholders;
- Monitor operating expenses;
- Identify, implement and monitor productivity monthly;
Tools and Database
- Gather, organize and develop information to be ready and available to Procurement stakeholders;
- Create and develop procurement databases using current tools and processes;
- Facilitate and guide purchasing decisions using the appropriate tools and processes;
Process and Continuous Improvement
- Analyze existing processes and identify areas for improvement with an associated action plan;
- Develop a sustainable work process between Purchasing, Marketing teams and Agencies, in order to have control and a clear vision of expenses;
- Assist in understanding the role of the Purchasing function with internal stakeholders;
About you
Skills and qualifications sought:
- Be autonomous, structured;
- Demonstrate leadership and initiative;
- Very good communication and synthesis skills and ease of communicating with all levels of the organization;
- Have good teamwork skills and demonstrated interpersonal skills;
- Possess a high level of intellectual curiosity, strategic thinking, business and financial acumen;
- Very good understanding of contract language;
- Ability to work under pressure with multiple deliverables to be issued simultaneously;
- Strong level of English, both oral and written;
- Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook);
- Have a diploma in Purchasing or Supply Chain, and or data analysis;

V.I.E is a Business France device allowing Europeans to work internationally for a designated company. This is a 6 to 24 months contract.
- You must be aged 18 to 28.
- You must have completed national service obligation.
- You must be a citizen of the European Economic Area.
- You must have never worked in the country in which you wish to do your VIE.
What are the contractual advantages of the V.I.E?
